How can a floor plan help me?
A floor plan is a great tool when moving to a new home. On paper, you will have the ability to see how your furniture will fit in your new space. As a result, the floor plan becomes useful when making decisions on what to keep and what to give away. It helps with deciding on whether you need new items that fit the space better. Movers use the floor plan on move day so they know where items belong. This means you aren’t stuck rearranging furniture yourself. Electrical outlets, cable connections, etc. can be planned in advance so you end up with furniture where you want it not where outlets dictate.

What do you need to put together a floor plan?
We need measurements of all the large furniture pieces you plan to move. We also need the dimensions of the space you are moving into. Floor plans with dimensions are provided by senior communities all the time for the purpose of planning your move. Once measurements are received we have everything we need to get your plan on paper.

Who takes measurements of my furniture?
It can be done in one of two ways. You can measure your items and send them to us. This is helpful if you live in another city. It’s also helpful during quarantine because you don’t need to have anyone in your home. Alternatively, we can come to your home and measure your furniture for you. The appointment typically takes 1-2 hours depending on the size of your current space. We charge hourly for this service.

How long before I get my floor plan on paper?
We can be as fast as you need us to be. We have completed floor plans in less than two days. We do like to have more time but we are willing to work with you and your schedule.

Will artwork, prints, or mirrors be included in my floor plan?
If the artwork or mirror is extra large in size we will want to make sure it will fit in your new home so you don’t incur the expense of moving it needlessly. We will include large items on the plan or at least confirm if an item will fit and where. However, we typically don’t include smaller works fo art, prints, or mirrors on a floor plan.

Will light fixtures or chandeliers be included in my floor plan?
If the light fixtures are sizable or if you have a special request then yes we will include light fixtures and/or chandeliers. Generally speaking, we don’t typically include them in a floor plan.

How much does it cost to create a floor plan?
If you take the measurements of your items and send them to us we charge $500 for a complete floor plan. Prices may vary so please contact us if you want further details.
